Labour and Health Social Initiatives (LHSI) is a non-governmental organization (NGO), established in 2002 and based in Kiev, Ukraine.

LHSI Mission

To promote sustainable human development by evolving social services and expanding access to public health services for vulnerable categories of citizens in difficult life circumstances, ensuring child development, protecting the rights and empowering youth, and contribute gender equality for a better Future.

 

LHSI strategic objectives 2023-2024

1. Social policy: development of social services for vulnerable categories of citizens in difficult life circumstances and development of programs to prevent socially negative phenomena in the labor sphere.

2. Public health: expanding access to public health services for vulnerable groups to improve the fight against the spread of tuberculosis in Ukraine, combat other socially dangerous diseases, and promote a healthy lifestyle.

3. Children and Youth: protection of the rights of children and youth, development of children through play, including support for the implementation of the right to participation of children in all processes related to their development, promotion of interaction and exchange of experience between organizations from different countries to empower youth, promote their growth and active participation in the life of society.

4. Assisting in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, including supporting internally displaced persons in Ukraine and Ukrainian citizens who were forced to migrate abroad due to the war and need assistance, as well as implementing explosive ordnance awareness programs in communities that were mined during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Issues of gender equality and protection of the rights of vulnerable groups are cross-cutting issues in all areas of the Organization's work.
