E-mpowerYouth

E-mpowerYouth is a project aimed at raising awareness among adolescents from internally displaced persons (IDPs) and Ukrainian refugees in Poland and the Netherlands about online gender-based violence.

The project is implemented by the LHSI, the charitable organization "Youth and Teen Union 'Teenagerizer'," in collaboration with the OPORA Foundation (Netherlands) and Pro-fil (Poland). It is funded by the European Union.

Project Duration: 24 months, starting from April 1, 2025.

Project Goal

To enhance safety in the online environment for Ukrainian refugees and IDPs in Ukraine, Poland and Netherlands. The project aims to increase awareness among youth and their parents or guardians about online risks, their digital rights, and strategies to prevent gender-based violence online.

Main Objectives of the Project:

• Implement methods for recognizing and preventing gender-based violence online among partner organizations and local authorities.

• Disseminate information and resources for combating violence among youth and their parents or guardians.

• Create a safe online environment.

• Advocate for online safety regulations and address gaps in legislation.

E-mpowerYouth stands out for its innovative integration of digital tools with interactive educational methodologies that adapt to the needs of displaced populations, setting a new standard for digital education and safety initiatives. The project’s ambition extends to establishing a model of digital resilience that can be adopted in other regions and contexts, potentially benefiting a global audience.

As part of the E-mpowerYouth project, training will be conducted for specialists who can advise adolescents and their parents or guardians on preventing gender-based violence online. Online programs will be implemented to help recognize and avoid bullying and the consequences of sexting. Workshops will be organized for adolescents and their parents or guardians on gender-based violence and ways to prevent it. A media campaign will be conducted in Ukraine and among Ukrainian communities in Poland and the Netherlands to disseminate information on safeguarding against sexualized violence online.
