New partnership on mine safety
Today, Ukraine is one of the most heavily mined countries in the world: 40% of its territory is contaminated with explosives. According to the UN, more than 1.8 million Ukrainian children and adults live surrounded by mines, especially in the de-occupied territories. For example, 1,256,000 hectares of land in the Kharkiv region are contaminated with explosive remnants of war.
Therefore, LHSI ‘Social Initiatives for Occupational Safety and Health’ in partnership with MINE MARK Foundation and NorthWave cyber security and with the support of the Centre for Social Services of Kharkiv Region launched an educational campaign among children in Kharkiv Region.

The posters of this educational campaign are already ‘working’.
The materials distributed among children explain the importance of not touching strange objects found on the ground, avoiding abandoned and destroyed houses, and paying attention to warnings about mined areas.
After all, being careful and following mine safety rules can save lives!
