We start training for the Play Hub
On May 3-4, a training for trainers "TOY for Inclusion" was held in the framework of the new project of the NGO "Labour and Health Social Initiatives" (LHSI), the main purpose of which is to launch a Play Hub in Kyiv, where children and families of internally displaced persons will receive psychosocial support, access to games and training activities, access to socialization opportunities, specialized support in the field of education, healthcare, getting to know your new community.
This is the first Play Hub in Ukraine, which LHSI in cooperation with the International Child Development Initiatives (ICDI, the Netherlands) launches with the support of the charitable organization Porticus.
The first training in the framework of the project was conducted for trainers in order to build foundations for understanding the TOY approach to inclusion and how to launch the Play Hub (game center).
Participants developed knowledge about the importance of early childhood and the role of play in child development, the principles of the TOY approach for inclusion and the purpose of the program, how you can create a Play Hub in your community and contribute to the development of the plan, and the importance of intergenerational learning. In addition, they were able to ask questions to invited speakers from Slovakia and Hungary.
We would like to note that TOY for Inclusion Play Hubs are inclusive community-based non-formal educational spaces for children and families. They are especially concerned about attracting young children (0-10 years old) from vulnerable groups growing up in difficult life circumstances.
The first such Play Hub in Ukraine is being created by the LHSI in cooperation with the ICDI from the Netherlands in the Centre Rodinniy Dim in Kyiv.
