How VR Solution for Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Works

In February 2026, we continued to build a support space for teenagers within the project "Mind the Future" 💛

Coach Kuzmina conducted a series of classes that help teenagers better understand themselves, their emotions, and their interactions with others. This time, the program was joined by 118 teenagers from Kyiv and Kyiv region.

The classes were held at:

  • Kyiv Lyceum "EKO" No. 198
  • Lyceum No. 53, Kyiv
  • Erudite NVK
  • Kotsiubynskyi Lyceum No. 1
  • Educational and Rehabilitation Center No. 21

In a safe group format, participants:

  • learned to find internal resources
  • mastered emotional self-regulation skills
  • developed effective communication
  • built trust and interaction within the team.

We worked through interactive exercises, reflection, and lively dialogue — and this yielded the most important thing: feeling supported and able to be heard.

It is especially valuable that sometimes such classes become the first step towards deeper help. For example, one of the participants after the training independently sought individual counseling — and received it at the Kyiv City Center for Social Services.

This confirms once again: by creating a safe space, we open the way to change.

The Mind the Future project is implemented by the Labor and Health Social Initiatives (LHSI) as the national implementing agency with funding from the Ukraine Partnership Facility (UPF) in partnership with ICDI, Fundacja Pro-Fil and De VRanderkamer. The program is implemented by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and supports the recovery and sustainable reconstruction of Ukraine.
