The rapid assessment was conducted within the framework of the Project “Enhancing the Capacities of Law Enforcement Agencies in Combating Violence against Children Online”, which is implemented with the financial support of the European Union. The project focuses on recognizing the priority of protecting children as one of the vulnerable groups from various forms of violence, in particular cyberviolence, as well as on the need to take all possible measures to protect them. The project’s activities are aimed at increasing the capacity of law enforcement agencies and civil society organizations to ensure children’s digital rights and create effective modern tools for responding to child abuse online. The Project team consists of three partner organizations: the All-Ukrainian Charitable Organization "Ukrainian Fund for the Well-being of Children", the All-Ukrainian Public Center "Volunteer", the International Public Organization "Social Initiatives for Occupational Safety and Health", whose task is to plan to strengthen the role of civil society organizations in adhering to high standards and management policies in the field of overcoming online violence against children and their safety in cyberspace. Thus, the overall goal of the project is to introduce modern standards and effective tools in the law enforcement system of Ukraine to protect children in the digital world. The project is conducting a rapid assessment of the situation in order to effectively respond to new challenges regarding the safety of Ukrainian children on the Internet, related to the large-scale military aggression in Ukraine, which began in February 2022 and forced more than 12 million Ukrainians to leave their homes.
