Project: “Towards the People”

Project goal: improving the quality of life of elderly people in the territorial community of the city of Rzhyshchiv by creating and ensuring the functioning of the Center for Social Activity.

The project was implemented in cooperation with local authorities to ensure the provision of services to certain population groups in the context of decentralization reform in Ukraine.

Project implementation period: 12.2015-05.2016.

Project location: the city of Rzhyshchiv.

Main project objectives

Task 1: Organization of the work of a social activity center for the elderly in the city of Rzhyshchiv;

Task 2: Ensuring access for older people to quality social, legal, and household services in the community;

Task 3: Creating conditions for the elderly in the city of Rzhyshchiv to communicate (with each other, relatives, friends, acquaintances);

Task 4: Evaluation and dissemination of project experience in other cities and regions of Ukraine.

Target audience of the project

– elderly people: 2450;

– low-income elderly people in Rzhyshchiv: 98;

– social workers of the home social assistance department of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population: 16

Results aboutobject:

- training was conducted for 6 community social workers, 90% of participants were satisfied with the quality of the training;

– legal, hairdresser, and household services were provided to 1189 elderly people;

– a referral and information system has been introduced in the community to improve access to existing social, medical and other services for the elderly in the community;

– social support services were provided to 98 low-income elderly people in the city of Rzhyshchiv;

– 182 consultations on using a PC and creating pages on social networks were provided to clients of the social service center.
