Virtual reality is becoming a tool for restoring the mental health of Ukrainian youth. The first stage of training specialists who will work with teenagers using the innovative VR coaching method has begun within the framework of the Mind the Future project.

The first two days of training for future VR Future Coaches became a powerful and inspiring start. The pilot recruitment was joined by 25 Ukrainian coacheswho are ready to implement digital technologies in the field of psychosocial support.

Innovations in the service of mental health

The project aims to help young people who have experienced the consequences of war and forced displacement. Using a virtual space, experts will help adolescents find inner resources, see prospects, and regain a sense of control over their own lives.

During the first sessions, participants:

• mastered the methodology of the approach VR Future Room®;
• underwent a technical intensive on the use of VR equipment;
• investigated the psychological aspects of the influence of the virtual environment on the formation of resilience in young people.

 

International Partnership for Ukrainian Resilience

The program is conducted by international experts from the Netherlands. The training is the result of a synergy of experienced partners:

• ICDI (Netherlands) — the main coordinator of the initiative;
• The Changing Room (Netherlands) — developer of VR technologies and educational content;
• PRO-FIL (Poland) — a partner in cross-border exchange of experience and mobile consulting formats.

About the project

The Mind the Future project is being implemented LHSI as a National Artist with the support of International Business Agencies of the Government of the Netherlands through the Partnership Fund with Ukraine 2 (UPF2The initiative is an important component of the nationwide effort to rebuild Ukraine and strengthen the potential of its youth.
