Cybersecurity for teens

Project "Cybersecurity for Teens"» is implemented by the International Public Organization "Social Initiatives for Occupational Safety and Health" with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands through the Human Rights Foundation.

Pilot initiatives of the project are being implemented in Kyiv and Lviv.

Goal: Ensuring gender equality by preventing online digital sexual harassment of school-age girls (13-16 years old)

The project ensures the gender rights of adolescents (boys and girls) with a special focus on preventing sexual harassment of schoolgirls on the Internet.

The project aims to raise awareness among teachers, parents, and local children's rights advocates.

The project objective will be achieved by adapting and piloting in two target cities (Kyiv and Lviv), at the level of 5 target schools, the CYBERSAFE educational tool, which offers a combination of face-to-face and virtual workshops on preventing sexual harassment of adolescents online, training and informing school staff, local human rights activists and parents.

The CYBERSAFE toolkit was developed and implemented in the EU by Dutch experts from ICDI, one of the LHSI partners, who will represent and provide technical assistance to local experts on adapting CYBERSAFE to the Ukrainian context.

The project envisages conducting a Training of Trainers (ToT) for workshop facilitators, introducing a modern approach to preventing online sexual harassment and protecting girls in targeted schools. In addition, the Ukrainian version of the online tool CYBERSAFE will be used as a game-based learning tool during workshops with students aged 13-16 in five targeted schools in 2 cities.

The awareness and information campaign will target school students, teachers and parents, and will also include a digital information campaign for teenagers, developed with the active participation of students. The Ukrainian Scout Association will participate in the project as another partner to involve children and youth in this initiative.

Project results collected in the final publication  and presented to all local and national stakeholders in order to ensure the exchange of experiences, further expansion and multiplication of the initiatives introduced by the project.
