The research was conducted as part of the project: "CyberSafeGirls: Ensuring the digital safety of Ukrainian girls." The project is implemented by the NGO "Social Initiatives for Occupational Health and Safety" (LHSI) with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

This study was conducted to establish the real state of affairs regarding gender-specific characteristics of online violence among children of different ages in Ukraine. It analyzed the legislation as a basis for implementing preventive activities regarding violence in the digital dimension - international, ratified by Ukraine, and national legislation, including related regulatory legal acts. It also considered the best European practices in combating online violence among adolescents taking into account the gender approach, and conducted a qualitative study to identify existing trends and characteristics of cyberviolence in Ukraine. The gender approach to types of violence, as a tool for analysis, allows us to understand how social roles, stereotypes and expectations affect the vulnerability of boys and girls in the online space and the ability to resist cyberviolence. The task of the study is to form the basis for developing effective preventive measures that will take into account gender approaches to ensure the protection of the rights of children of different ages in the online space in accordance with international standards.
