Analysis of the status of implementation of algorithms for interaction between social and medical services

The analysis was conducted within the framework of the project "You should know about tuberculosis: active detection of tuberculosis cases among people in difficult life circumstances" funded by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria with the support of the international charitable foundation "Public Health Alliance" in cooperation with social service centers and a network of anti-tuberculosis institutions in the following regions: Donetsk, Luhansk, Chernivtsi, Kharkiv, Lviv, Vinnytsia and Kyiv.

Purpose of analysis — describe and analyze the implemented interaction algorithms in the target communities of the project (according to planned qualitative and quantitative indicators), to learn lessons and develop recommendations for further improving tuberculosis (TB) detection among high-risk social groups. A sample of 30% of the regions (territories, communities, cities) that participated in the project in 2021-2022 and have experience in implementing the project for more than one year.

Algorithm and region selection criteria

  • the site has been operating in the project for at least a year at the time of the analysis (Lviv region, the cities of Kharkiv and Kyiv or Donetsk region);
  • different approaches to cooperation and redirection are used (algorithms for work in different conditions, at least 5 algorithms are considered);
  • demonstrated work efficiency according to reported indicators in 2022 (Syrex) and the planned action algorithm;
  • conducting interviews (meetings) with local implementers, namely with representatives of social services and tuberculosis doctors from 5 selected regions involved in the project during the year.
